Basically I gave up the game when I almost finished the Fighter's Guild Quests. Of course I went here, there, and everywhere on my journey with really no rhryme or reason. I didn't even get a tenth into the main story line.
Now I want to reinstall and try again (and my rig is so much more up to the task). I have heard there are great community texture packs and mods that make the game play more enjoyable. One thing I didn't like about the original look was the depressing, drab color scheme. So I'd appreciate hearing from you recommendations for..
1. Texture packs for improved graphics, terrain, etc.
2. Merchants that actually have enough gold to buy high end items and replenish their gold stocks in a reasonable time frame.
3. Anything else you can think of.
Thanks!

So I think the best compromise for my playstyle is to not have to worry about stats. I'm guessing not, but it's worth asking around to see if I can find one - especially since this forum is more active than the GameFAQs one. Basically, I'm talking about something like Oblivion XP - where you gain experience for actions and, eventually, you'll level up - and when you do, you can level up your attributes and skills instead of increasing them via actions.
